Woodmill

From medieval times to the 1930s corn was ground here by stone mill wheels powered by the River Itchen. In 1781 the mill became home to the first powered circular saw Patented by William Taylor III, and cut over half a million timber blocks for the Royal Navy in the 5 years preceding the Battle of Trafalgar.
